Tesseract Theatre Company is excited to be involved with St. Louis’ first fringe festival, St Lou Fringe. Tesseract will be producing “My Alexandria”, written by Tesseract’s Artistic Director Taylor Gruenloh and starring Reese Walters and Daniel Ludwig.
My Alexandria sees two actors portray over thirty characters in an examination of the lives of African American soldiers that were sent to fight for France in WW1. Courage, pride, jazz, and the search for an identity are explored in this fast paced piece. They carried a New York National Guard flag, wore U.S. Army uniforms, marched with the French brigade. The enemy called them 'Hellfighters'.
